Thanks everyone for all the congrats on our new house, we’re so excited and it’s even more exciting to be able to share this with people we care about and they actually be excited for us too!
A few people mentioned how great it is to have something new and empty and a chance to start over and I guess I never thought of it but they couldn’t be more right!
Who knew a new house could come with so much emotions? This new house was a really big deal for Drew and I because we picked it out together and so it really seems like its “our” house. It’s like we’re officially starting our life together, which is perfect because we’re celebrating our anniversary today!! I loved our other house very much and we made lots of great memories but this was Drew’s house initially and a really big deal for him, because this was the first house he bought on his own after his divorce. (Even if he furnished it with lawn furniture!)
Our old house is also the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere since I was 18! It will be sad to say good bye to it once we finally make the final move.
I think our biggest reason for buying our new house was because we lost our girls last summer and both of us just wanted a fresh start and a new beginning, we’re both convinced this year is going to be the best year yet! We had originally made big plans to do major remodeling on the old house once the girls were born and after things went wrong we didn’t have the motivation to do it.
The new house is so great and I have to pinch myself because I really love it! Drew and I are really happy and have worked really hard to get it and it just seems like everything is falling into place. You’d think I’d be anxious to move in, repaint and decorate but honestly I actually want to stretch out the house being empty and thought of all promises ahead!
