Office Chair

February 28, 2012

My office is slowly moving along, in fact I was working on it yesterday night for a few hours.   Just when I think I’m done I think of a few more things I need to do.

Today I thought I’d show you a little makeover I did on an old office chair. I’d eventually like to get a new (old chair) that looks like this.

(Little Green Notebook find from Ebay)

But for now this one will do, here’s the before.

Here is the after.

Don’t pay attention to the desk, it’s long been sold.  But pay attention to the black wall…design tip,  I replaced the light switches and outlets to black so they wouldn’t be so noticeable.  (Small details make a big difference.)

The chair was painted black to match a lot of the design elements in the room and the red and blue ikat fabric was from Calico Corners.

The rug is also still in the room, it’s old, I bought it at an auction and had it professionally cleaned.  I like that it doesn’t match and brings some warmth into the room.

Thanks everyone for all the nice emails yesterday about the magazine article!  It means a lot that you’d take the time to write!
