This last year was both hard and wonderful all rolled into one. I learned alot both professionally and personally. Hands down it’s been the best year in a very, very long time!
I always like looking back at the end of the year to see what I actually got accomplished and of course what still needs to get done so here goes a little summary of some of my favorite projects of the year.
The before and after of this chair was one of my biggest changes I made to a piece of furniture!
I was featured in Indianapolis Monthly where I gave advice on how to decorate a rental apartment/house.
This mirror was probably the fastest selling item in my booth at the Carmel Antique Mall. It’s also one of those items I wished I would’ve kept for myself!
This ikat bench also sold at the booth this year. Note to self: Stop putting everything in your booth and getting angry when it sells!
Our big project of the year was completed in May. We had the house painted, we changed out the light fixtures and we had a pergola put over the garage. It’s the biggest transformation I’ve ever done on a home and I love it!
I joined instagram in June and I am still
addicted in love with it! (The photo below of my booth are the types of things I instagram, along with one too many baby photos!) Do you follow me? If you don’t I’m at housetoyourhome! My booth was keeping me busy in June and I was having a hard time keeping it full, which is a good problem to have!
Along with alot of yard work completed by my husband I pitched in and stenciled a coffee table for our outdoor patio.
I didn’t post on my blog as much as I had the years prior and in August I’d finally worked up enough courage to share with everyone that I was 7 months pregnant and I’d been on partial bed rest due to having a cerclage at 3 months because I was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix.
I started working on the nursery for our baby boy and I showed off a vintage Ethan Allen dresser I made over.
Finally after what seemed like forever I was proud to show off my best project of the year! Our baby boy! Cooper James Jones weighing 6 pounds 5 ounces!
We hosted Thanksgiving this year and decided to spruce up the dining room a little bit and added board and batten and a new light fixture from West Elm. The room isn’t finished yet but it’s starting to look pretty good.
I decided to not go too crazy with the Christmas decorations but still managed to get the house looking pretty festive. My door was my most pinned photo on Pinterest for the month of December. If you’d like please feel free to follow me on Pinterest!
I was also excited when a “small, little” blogger by the name of Emily Henderson showed off my mantel as one of her favorites!
So there you have it my year in a single post! I feel so silly now because I thought I wasn’t getting anything accomplished this year because of the pregnancy which leads me to this years resolution to stop beating myself up!
My next post will be my resolutions for our home for 2013. (Am I the only one who does this?) I hope you’ll come back! (If you like you can enter your email in the subscription box to the right and my posts will come directly to you!!)
