A few months ago I was at the Goodwill when I came across this iron bed for $19.00. I quickly snapped it up because my daughter had decided she wanted to get rid of her queen size bed and go down to a twin size bed because she wanted more room in bedroom and she wanted her bed to sorta look like a couch. I thought this was a great solution.
I’m about 90% done with her room so I thought I’d give you a little sneak peek of her bed. Before painting the bed I washed the bed down with hot water and bleach. I also replaced the screws that held the bed together. They were looking a little old so I figured better safe than sorry. Once the bed was clean I sprayed it with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2x Satin Green Apple. The bed took 2 cans of spray paint. I will say this I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a satin finish instead of a glossy one the spray paint powders up and gets all over the place so be careful if you’re using it.
I’m hoping the pillows I ordered will get here this weekend and I have a couple unfinished furniture projects I’m hoping to knock out too.
I promise to go into more detail about all the specifics when I do the final post but I’m really happy we decided to go with the green paint for the iron bed! My daughter is 15 and when we moved into the house she was still in middle school and the room was a lot of pink and purple, I think the green makes it a little more mature.
If you’d like to see all the changes my daughter’s room has gone through you can read about it here and here. I have loved decorating Sloan’s room and hoping she’ll let me decorate her dorm room in a few years! Out of all the rooms I’ve ever done for her though this one still remains the highest pinned one! (It was the fastest room I ever did and it was a bed in a bag!)

Have a great weekend!!
