I love fall decorating and now that fall is officially here it means I can do a little fall decorating around the house.
I really don’t do a lot of decorating for fall in September just a few touches here and there. I decorate for fall and not Halloween. I may put out a few Halloween decorations in a few weeks but we do not get any trick or treaters so I’m not sure if I’ll either bother this year. Today I figured I’d share with you all a few fall touches!
First up is the dining room where I put a few pumpkins and a kitschy turkey I picked up from Goodwill and placed some fall napkins in it. I tend to go with less is more. The container in the center is a rustic jug lantern I recently picked up from World Market. (It’s currently on sale for a really great price.) I also signed up for the World Market Explorer card which is not a credit card it’s just one of those loyalty cards. It’s great because you don’t have to have the card to use it at the store, you just have to punch in your cellphone number. I always get money off my purchases with this program!
This is in my kitchen. A pumpkin spice candle from Glade which only cost a few dollars but surprisingly smells delicious and a few dollar store pumpkins in a pretty wooden bowl. Like I said small touches here and there.
I had some left over plastic fall berries and just threw them in my antlers. Boom!!!
I don’t typically tend to buy vases anywhere but the Goodwill but I bought this pretty green teardrop seville vase from World Market. I thought it would be perfect in the dining room. I bought 3 sets of fall leaves from Michael’s and simply stuck them in the vase. I usually use real leaves but our leaves haven’t changed colors yet and I think these fake ones surprisingly look really good!
I picked up these pumpkins last year and spray painted them gold. I put the smaller one on a wooden candlestick. I think elevating items in a vignette really makes a big difference visually. The tray is from Nate Berkus’s line at Target, the wishbone napkin holders are from Pottery Barn and the silver tray is from the Goodwill that I simply painted with chalkboard paint. It’s always fun to change the note on the tray!
Wood cutting boards are an addiction of mine and look perfect grouped together for fall. The leaf and pumpkin plastic things are actually from Williams Sonoma and are used to cut pie dough to decorate Drew’s pumpkin pie’s he loves so much!
Do you decorate for fall? I decorated my front porch this weekend and can’t wait to show it to you! I hope your Monday is off to a great start!!
