Before I get yapping about the progress in the master bathroom I wanted to say hello to any new visitors coming from It’s Overflowing and if you are coming here first please feel free to stop by It’s Overflowing because my home tour is on Aimee’s blog today!!
So onto the One Room Challenge Update!
If you need a recap here’s my post from the One Room Challenge – Week 1.
This week I did a little shopping for the bathroom but it was mostly for non-fun stuff like spackle, paint brushes and well you get the idea. I did however pick up some brass hardware for the bathroom cabinet.
The hardware I originally picked out were sold out so I chose these from Lowe’s.
The bathroom has been cleaned out, taped for priming and painting and the holes have been patched and sanded. Do you see my paint samples? I’m having a hard time deciding on the paint color.
The black is Pantone’s Jet Black and I’ll be using it on the vanity. I still haven’t decided on the wall color yet.
The best part of the makeover so far is when I took the builder’s grade mirror off the brackets and I found out there was no adhesive behind the mirror holding it up! I plan on replacing the mirror with 2 large round mirrors…still undecided.
The other things that happened this week was a lot of measuring. Here’s sorta the process for me, measure everything I’ve brainstormed like rug size, mirror size, trash can, wall sizes that way when I go out looking for items I have the sizes. I also make a list of everything I might need. When it comes to the actual design I sorta wing it and chose what speaks to me while I’m out looking, I’ll also shop my house for items.
So this next week I hope to get the walls and the cabinet painted and I’m ordering the new lighting. I’m thinking these fixtures from Schoolhouse Electric! (They are seriously my favorite lighting source!)
Make sure you stop by Calling it Home to see what the other participants have gotten done this week! I can’t believe how many people are making over a room!! Love it!
