Saying Good Bye for Now (Sorta)

April 29, 2014

It’s pretty apparent that my blog postings haven’t been too high on my agenda as of late.  I have been blogging since August of 2009 and I have loved it and I have learned so much and have gained so many awesome friends but things started feeling different this year.

I know I’m not the only one there’s been a shift in blogging and I can’t quite put my finger on it.  Maybe it’s Pinterest, maybe it’s all the information online that makes me feel overwhelmed, or the competition cranking out new projects so quickly, the mean comments, the frantic feeling of missing a deadline or following advertisers rules. Maybe it’s just me, maybe my priorities are different, like I said, I really can’t put my finger on it.

I know most people say to find something you love and make money off of it but I have sorta been feeling like what I have loved (decorating and taking care of my home) since I was a small kid was starting to feel like a duty and not an escape.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been plugging along on the house like I used to and not really documenting it and after the initial panic of not posting or not commenting on other sites I started to enjoy my house again and for now I need to enjoy my house and my babies.  I have an 18 month old and a 15 year old and time is flying by quickly and the blog isn’t something I want to get in the way of being with them or the process of me enjoying making my house a home.

This doesn’t mean I’m finished though, in fact this blog has helped me meet a lot of people and my consulting work has really picked up.  I also have started working on a book that may take a year or two to complete but I’m ok with that, actually saying it out loud is the hardest thing!

For now the posts will be very, very, very light, I may come back from time to time to post photos or ask your advice or pick your brain about decorating and caring for your home for some research I’m doing so please sign up to receive my posts directly.

So…I’m not saying good-bye I’m just saying things are shifting so don’t forget about me!  Thanks to everyone who reads my blog, emails me and comments it seriously means a ton!!
