I get a lot of questions about my thrift store finds and so I thought I’d share some of my thought process that goes on when buying items for my home and for clients. A big furniture find is always fun but mostly I find lots of small thrift store finds. Recently I spotted a small espresso maker for $1.48 at my local City Thrift and swiped it up immediately!
I’m a total visual person and tend to spot tiny details when it comes to design that others who might not be obsessed like me might miss. My husband laughs when we go to the movies and I’m more interested in the set design (especially any Nancy Meyers movie – It’s Complicated, The Holiday, Something’s Gotta Give, etc.)
I admit it the older I become I want both function and pretty. I want the items I use everyday to be beautiful!
Here’s my coffee maker next to my coffee grinder I bought at The Inventorialist awhile back. They are not only pleasing to the eye, they both work great too! My favorite thing to do on a Sunday is to have a big breakfast with super good coffee and catch up with my husband.
My $1.48 small thrift store find!!
I hope you liked this little look into my thrifting mentality! Here’s some examples of pretty vignettes I collect and keep a mental list of while I’m out shopping!
Have a great weekend! I’m looking forward to starting on a few bathroom projects and meeting up with friends for dinner!
