I’m linking up my holiday tour with Jennifer Rizzo’s great Holiday House Walk!
Here is the last of my Christmas tour, I hope you enjoy it. This year I decided to put our tree in our basement. I’ll be honest I just didn’t want to drag it upstairs! It’s kinda fun having it downstairs though, fun to mix it up and we’re spending more time down there because of it!
Do you notice Darth Vadar helping me out while I took the pictures?? We are all about anything with a cape!
I mentioned on instagram that I bought Trader Joe’s out of their boxwood wreaths and I may of made a few enemies for not giving them up! #yousnoozeyoulose
I swapped out a few of my everyday plates for these cute Christmas plates from Target.
I’m loving my new blue and white buffalo plaid pillows. I finally followed my own design advice and swapped out the couch pillows for these!
I’ve had this deer for years. Honestly I don’t like to spend a ton of money on decorations. I try to hold onto things for years, so my kids will associate the decorations of past years and make memories. I just switch things up like this year by adding the red pom poms from the Target dollar spot.
Next year we have plans to expand the bar area with a small refrigerator and a back splash! This used to be in our bedroom (?) when we moved in and I’m so glad we decided to repurpose it, it’s one of the most used items in our basement!
My mom painted this tree when I was a little girl. It’s one of my favorite Christmas decorations!
A few little touches to the kitchen corner.
I kept the bookcases the same but just added some bottle brush Christmas trees.
In the past I put real garland up the stairs. This year people I have a 3 year old who is BUSY and honestly using fake garland means once the holiday is over I rip the garland down without having to deal with the mess of needles everywhere! People… I am tired at the end of the day and life is currently about doing less!! I did however make these pretty cluster of ornaments to disguise the fake garland!
You and I both know everything looks better under glass! Fancy eh!?
I’ll be honest with you my favorite decoration is our tree because there is no rhyme or reason to it other than lots of handmade ornaments, ornaments picked out yearly as one of our traditions and lots of photos!
I hope you enjoyed my tour! If you missed part 1 you can see it here!
I also have lots of inspiration on my Christmas pinterest board if you’re not Christmas out yet! There have been so many beautiful homes all over the internet this year! I know it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and start comparing but please don’t. I love decorating my home for my family but what’s truly important is the time we spend together making memories and traditions. Pretty pictures don’t always tell the full story, it’s important we are thankful for what we have and make the most of this special time of year!
