Maybe I should call this post things on my phone instead of things on my mind. I’m going to let you in on a little secret I “might” be one of those mom’s who sit in the grocery store parking lot and read my favorite blogs. It seems like it’s the only place to get any peace and quiet these days! When I want to remember something I take a screen shot of it. Today I thought I’d share with you what’s on my phone.
I found these same green glasses a little while back at the Goodwill so of course this photo from Everyday Home blog caught my attention! And seriously who isn’t loving black and white buffalo check at the moment! It’s a simple and beautiful place setting!
Speaking of simple…this idea from Today’s Creative Blog is just up my alley! We have a weekend of shopping, Christmas baking, listening to Christmas music and I like to add a few new Christmas elements to the house during this time so this or something else using cranberries will probably be on the list to do. I think one of the fun things about having kids is how these little types of things are the things they remember and love.
I love how this buffet was decorated for Christmas using all my favorite elements. Greenery, pinecones, birch and animals!! via Clean and Scentsible
After living in our home for over 5 years and dealing with my kitchen that is basically a cave because it’s so dark I think we’re finally going to take the plunge and make some changes, number 1 would be painting our cabinets. Here’s a great tutorial on painting cabinets I’ve got tucked away to use! This photo below is by my “boyfriend” Nate Berkus and is the inspiration for my kitchen.
With a kitchen makeover comes a budget and I’ve heard good things about itsums so I’m going to give it a try. Have you used it?
I love Lindsay Letters and for the last 2 years I’ve bought a piece of art during her Christmas sale. (This years piece) I also decided to splurge and have them both framed. The artwork is beautiful and the framing is fantastic and makes hanging the piece so freakin’ easy! Isn’t the styling of this bookcase gorgeous!? I have a thing for bookcases! Here’s proof here!
Our house is 8 years old and the carpet needs replaced badly. It’s the cheap builders grade carpet they put in new houses, you can hire carpet cleaning Miranda for the maintenance carpets. Ideally I’d like to ditch the carpeting and do something like this! I love the textured look of the carpet runner and of course the wood treads. Oh and some molding would be great too!
I am in the process of moving some furniture around the house and I have a black dresser in our guest room I’m thinking of moving into our bedroom. I think I may stencil it to mimic the look of a bone inlay dresser. Here’s a great stencil I’ll probably order. While I’m at it I think I’m painting my room black. (Shhh…I’m going to do it while my husband is away traveling for work, when I mentioned it he freaked out but I think if I just do it he’ll see it’ll be amazing!)
I’m like everyone else and love to organize the house in January and I Heart Organizing is one of my go to blogs for organizing inspiration. I have a coffee station in our kitchen and it could use a refresher. I think some hooks are on the list to buy!
These are the 2 of the 3 reasons I read my blogs in the grocery store parking lot!
Looking forward to a fun weekend before Christmas with the family. If you live in Indianapolis here is a list of fun things to do!
