One Room Challenge Week 6 Office Makeover

November 10, 2017

one room challenge

Today was supposed to be the One Room Challenge big office makeover day but we’ve been given another week. I really don’t have much to show today that I haven’t already shared in Week 1, Week 2, Week 4, Week 5.

Office Makeover

After the reveal I usually do a follow up post with my sources but I figure I’ll go ahead and do that today. I’ll also link this page next week with the reveal post. Next week is going to be all photos because lets face it that’s what it’s really about on reveal day.

My husband is a gamer, meaning board games. Sorta like Risk. They’re mostly strategic games. Not my jam but as much as I like to think everything is about me it’s not. He stores them in Ikea bookcases in Bit Gamer Boxes. He has so many games and these boxes saved so much space out of their original boxes.

We also keep our file cabinets for our important papers in the closet. The hooks are from Anthropologie. They used to be in my son’s nursery at the old house. Now they hold my husband’s briefcases.

The artwork is personal and handmade.  There is my husband’s map that he used in the Marines that I had framed. Art painted by our son. Driftwood I found the first time we took our vintage boat out on it’s maiden voyage. There’s an illustration of my daughter when she was 2  years old. (She’s 19 years old now.) A horse shoe for luck. A feather I picked up after we just lost one of our babies. There’s a piece of art that I reframed that I’d grab in a fire. My daughter bought it for me from Santa’s workshop when she was in 3rd grade because she said I loved decorating. One of my favorites is The Night Sky art. It is what the stars looked like the night Drew & I got married.

My husband and I made the art ledges by following this tutorial by Ana White. It cost about $30.00 to make and was the easiest DIY project we’ve done to date.
